TOYOTA IMMOBILISER UNITS

There are 2 reasons that an ECU Immobiliser Unit will need to be replaced:-

1. If additional keys cannot be programmed into the unit which is designed to recognise 6 different operating keys.Once 6 is reached no more can be put in unit so it has to be replaced.
2. If all the keys to the car are lost. There is no diagnostice equipment for replacement of lost keys as keys can only be programmed on car.

Once immobiliser unit replaced system will recognise the first key that is inserted into the igntion lock and turned.

The ECU immobiliser is usually found under dash of car or in engine compartment. It is important to replace the ECU immobiliser like for like as different ones can be found on the smae model of car depending on exact date of manufacture, right or left hand drive, type of engine, country where originally sdold etc. Identification numbers are on each unit so it is easy to identify the correct one.

Whilst the following list is designed to help with identification of the ECU any replacement one must bear the same correct identication number as that removed from the vehicle.

SPECIAL DESIGN IGNITION LOCK ASSEMBLIES

Some of the Toyoa vehicles with immobilisers use a special design ignition lock cylinder assembly for an amplifier to fit around the face. These should be replaced with like. However most are only available in a set with the ECU Immobiser Unit. If there is a need to replace a damaged special design cylinder then please ordert hat first. Otherwise order set containing cylinder assembly and Immobiliser Unit which start with ASP part no XC-30-***. Those available are listed below:-
