TRANSPONDER KEY BLANK INDEX
The use of Transponder keys has developed over recent years. There are now various versions of the chips used in the keys and many different ways in which new keys can be programmed into the vehicles. Many of the earlier ones can be copied from an existing key (see Era PLUS under key machines section for an appropriate machine) but may also need programming into the vehicle as directed by the owners hand book. Later chips can not be copied and need programming into the vehicle by using a specialist machine. Dealers have these but there are ones coming on the market (see Transponder Programming System under key machines section). Efforts have been made to indicate which system of the above applies to which vehicles. This is ever developing and there is no guarantee the information is precise but it is designed as a guide.
